From the M5 motorway towards Szeged, the Tisza is accessible at multiple points throughout the city. Buses and trams from the central railway station, with short walks to the riverbank via the bridges.

The Szeged section of the Tisza River is one of the Great Plain's most significant waterways, with moderate current and abundant fish stocks. Average depth 3 m, maximum 25 m, moderate turbidity. The Upper and Lower Tisza banks, as well as the Ujszeged side, are the most frequently visited areas.
